Building up Evan's reading habits

Evan reading a book when he was two.  The book had hard cardboard pages but he managed to tear one off.  I stopped borrowing library books for him since then, fearing that he would destroy them and then I got to pay for the damages.

Now that he is turning three, I have decided to bring him to the library every Sunday (unless it rains or if we have other places to go or if he falls sick). Gotta start picking up the reading habit all over again.

Wow! Thomas and Friends story book.  I know he's too young for this book, but at least the pictures attract his attention.  So it's a good start.  I tried reading another simpler book to him and to my surprise, he did not interrupt or anyhow flip the pages or take away the book from me as I read.  Not 100% focus though. Mainly because there was a short story telling session going on at the back so he kept turning behind to see.  I asked him if he wanted to join in and he said no. Hmmm.. never mind.

These are the books we borrowed for the day.  I will make it a point to read one book to him per day.  Let's hope in the days to come, Evan will slowly build up a good reading habit.

Before we left the library, a young girl (about five to six years old) approached Evan and recommended a storybook to him.  I laughed.  Not bad ah Evan, so young only and girls are coming after you.  Must be attracted by your big big eyes.  Haha.. =)
